Dr. Muhammad Arshad got the degree of M.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture (Plant Breeding & Genetics) from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad during 1985. He got the degree of PhD in Plant Breeding & Genetics from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad during 2002. He was selected as Assistant Research Officer (ARO) through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) in 1987 and joined his duty as ARO at Vegetable Research Institute (VRI), Faisalabad in 1987 on regular basis. Afterwards he was promoted as Assistant Botanist and joined his duty as Assistant Botanist (Pulses) at Arid Zone Research Institute. He transferred to Pulses Research Institute, Faisalabad in 2007. He was promoted as a Maize Botanist in 2009 and posted as a Maize Botanist at Maize & Millets Research Institute, Yusafwala-Sahiwal. He was entrusted the additional charge of a Director, at Maize & Millets Research Institute, Yusafwala in 2016. As a result of his hard work and interest in work, Two Pea varieties Samrina Zard and Climax Improved, one Chickpea variety Punjab-2008 Six Maize OPVs MMRI Yellow, Pearl, Gohar-19, CIMMYT-PAK, Pop-1 and Sahiwal Gold, Three single cross Maize hybrids YH-1898, FH-1046 and FH-1036, Two Sorghum varieties YS-16 and Fakhr e Punjab ( Hybrid) and one Pearl Millet variety YBS-98 were got approved by Punjab Seed Council for General Cultivation in Punjab. He has 21 Publications.
