Preservation and propagation of healthy Shisham (Dalbergia sissoo) through cloning of resistant germplasm against dieback disease (15.06.2019 to 14.6.2022)

Name of the Project

Preservation and propagation of healthy Shisham (Dalbergia sissoo) through cloning of resistant germplasm against dieback disease (Project: 883)

Objectives

  • Survey/identification and collection of samples of phenotypically diverse Dalbergia sissoo (Shisham) and establishment of colonal bank for conservation of most resistant genotype of Shisham against dieback disease.
  • Confirmation of the casual pathogen of shisham dieback and Identification of resistant germplasm of Shisham against dieback disease.
  • Genome sequencing and mining of SSR and SNP markers, to validate the resistance at genomic level in Shisham. Molecular characterization, meatgenomics of various fungal & bacteria species using molecular markers, and Development of in-vitro regeneration and transformation.
