21 Labs got Accreditation of AARI for ISO-17025

Ayub Agricultural Research Institute (AARI) Faisalabad has successfully completed the project entitled “Accreditation of AARI Laboratories for ISO-17025” in 21 different laboratories. 21 Labs of AARI got accreditation for ISO-17025 from Pakistan national Accreditation Council (PNAC), Islamabad. As the AARI institute strife to attain stakeholders due to the unavailability of commercialization status. Only a few of laboratories out of 21 are directly providing services to common farmers, importers and exporters. The ultimate aim of the project is to perk up the working and services liberation of fibre testing laboratory, biotechnology laboratory, rice technology laboratory, cereal technology laboratory, soil and water testing laboratories and pesticide quality control laboratories. All 21 Laboratories have successfully achieved ISO 17025 accreditation, which demonstrates that Laboratories have qualified staff, precise equipment, adequate quality assurance, accurate recording and reporting and controlled lab environment. Dr. Muhammad Zaffar Iqbal, Director Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute told that accreditation is a sort of assurance that the laboratories are following international test methods, have qualified personnel, requisite infrastructure and modern equipment, which are prerequisite to generate consistent, reliable and internationally acceptable results.
