Maize

It is cultivated both for fodder and seed purpose. It is a very delicious fodder of summer season. It is very beneficial for milch animals. It can overcome the fodder shortage during lean periods. (May-June) It is also known as “Gacha”. Its fodder can be conserved in the form of silage. Its grains are rich in carbohydrates thus are used as feed of birds.
