Provision of Seed of New Varieties on Limited Scale
Importance of Quality Seed
A good crop harvest is not possible without quality seed. A study revealed that 10-12% drop in rice yield is because of the absence of quality and healthy seed.
Scope
Rice Research Institute, Kala Shah Kaku will produce 2200kg of Pre-Basic Seed and 3000kg of Basic seed of paddy for the year 2019-20.
How to avail the service?
Seed is available for the farmers and seed companies on first come first serve basis with a limited supply so that quality seed should reach to the maximum stakeholders. Provision of CNIC photocopy is compulsory and seed usually available in first week of April.
