Soil and Water Testing Lab for Research, Bahawalpur

Introduction 

Soil and Water testing Laboratory for Research, Bahawalpur was established during the year 1976-77 for the benefits and research activities of this area. This lab is functioning and helping to solve the problems of farmer’s community with respect to their soils and irrigation water. Moreover, this Lab is providing quality fertilizer testing to farmers as part of advisory service and also providing fertilizer testing service under FCO act 1973. The lab staff comprising high qualified staff as of 2 PhDs and 5 MSc (Hons.). In order to make the results more precise and reliable Soil and Water Testing Laboratory for Research, Bahawalpur has been accredited for ISO/IEC 17025 lab in 2018. Recently, Dr. Umair Riaz performing activities of Quality Assurance Officer for ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.

 

Purpose 

Testing of fertilizer samples for quality control containing Ammonical nitrogen, Nitrate nitrogen, Ureac nitrogen, Total nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, Zn, Cu, Fe, Mn, B, Chelated Zn, Amino acid, Humic acid, CEC and Organic Matter in single/mixed fertilizer liquid and solid along with analysis of soil, water and plants.
