He is well known plant breeder having Ph.D in 1996 from University of Wales, Bangor, United Kingdom. He has expertise in Breeding of various Field Crops (cotton, wheat, pulses & guar) for development of new varieties with high yield potential and resistance against various stresses. He contributed toward development of four cotton varieties) S-12, MNH-147, S-14 and MNH-329 (five wheat varieties (Derawar-97, Bahawalpur-97, Bahawalpur-2000, Punjnad-1 and Manthar-03), variety of mung (Bahawalpur Mung 2017) variety of guar (BR-2017).
