Objectives
Component-1
- University of Agriculture, Faisalabad Survey, collection, identification and population dynamics of PBW from different cotton growing districts
- Mas-rearing of PBW
- Determination of alternate host plants of PBW
- To study diapausing and cyclic behavior of Pink Bollworm
- Augmentation of BT gene efficacy through chemical application
- Monitoring of insecticide resistance development through conventional bioassays for insecticides used on cotton crop for bollworms
- Assessment of enzyme activity in resistant strains of PBW
- Evaluate The role of insecticides mixtures and synergists
- Farmer training workshops / seminars/ public awareness campaigns for PBW (throughout the year May to April of next year)
