Rice Research Institute, Kala Shah Kaku

Rice Research Institute, Kala Shah Kaku is one of the oldest and premier agricultural research institutes of the country. Since its inception in 1926, the institute has introduced many world renowned Basmati and non-basmati varieties. Rice Technology Lab of the institute is responsible for rice grain quality analysis. The lab has acquired ISO 17025 accreditation from Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC) for moisture testing since June 2018.

ISO 17025 accreditation standard is the symbol of competence and reliability on performed tests for a lab. After getting this standard, Rice Technology Lab results are now acceptable worldwide and especially for economics and trade. After scope extension of the lab for other analytical tests, there will be certainly boost in rice exports.
