Overview
Crop Diversification through soybean and Sesame adaptability studies under changing climate” is initiative of oilseeds research institute Faisalabad. Soybean is one of the most valuable crops not only as oilseed crop but also a good source of protein for human diet, poultry and livestock.
Objectives
Pakistan is importing a huge quantity of edible oil to fulfil its national requirement. To make Pakistan self-sufficient in edible oil, along with many other steps, this initiative was taken by this institute.
Outcomes
The benefits of this project are to decrease import of edible oil and soybean meal and to increase export of Sesame.
