Dr. Muhammad Zaffar Iqbal achieved Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Plant Breeding and Genetics in 1994 from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. In 2004 he won Full Bright Post-Doctoral Scholarship at University of Georgia, USA. He entered Govt. service in 1987 as Assistant Research Officer at Cotton Research Institute, Faisalabad. He became Director of Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute, Faisalabad in 2006. He received “Outstanding Scientist Award” from Ministry of Food & Agriculture in 2009. Dr. M. Zaffar Iqbal contributed in the development of important cotton varieties like FH-87, FH-945, FH-634, FH-900, FH-901, MNH-329, MNH-5522, MNH-554 and a Potato variety SH-5. He has more than 70 research publications in International and HEC recognized Journals of high impact factor
