Muhammad Riaz earned his M.Sc. (Hons.) in Plant Breeding and Genetics from University of Agriculture Faisalabad in 1990. He served in research for 20 years at Cotton Research Station Multan, Cotton Research Sub-station Sargodha and Cotton Research Institute Faisalabad He worked as main Team member for the development of eight cotton varieties. He also served as researcher at Arid zone Research Institute Bhakar and Fodder Research Institute Sargodha. He is now posted at Wheat Research Institute as Principal Scientist (Barley) with additional charge of Chief Scientist Oilseeds Research Institute Faisalabad. He also served as Chief Scientist Vegetable Research Institute Faisalabad for six months.
