Additional Facilities for Improvement in Fruit Yield and Quality of Guava, Pomegranate and Date palm

​Target Achieved

  • A technology has been standardized for production asexual propagation of pedigree plants of guava through by planting 9 inches long shoot tips with 2-3 terminal leaves (treated with IBA @ 0.4%) in beds under tunnel during the month of October.
  • Ten strains of guava (GS-1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, 9 & 10) have been selected.
  • Eight strains of Pomegranate (PS-1,2,3,4,5, 6, 7 & 8 ) have been selected
  • Fourteen varieties of exotic date palm varieties (Ajwa, Anbarah, Khudri,  NabutSaif, Sagai , Khalas, Barhee, Shishi, Sultana Medjool, Lulu, Nemeishi, Raziz, Zamli) have been imported.
  • The technology has been standardized for drying of dates at 52±10°C for 60 hours.
  • Brochures of date palm, pomegranate and guava have been got printed and delivered to the farmers .
